Groundbreaking for Janu-brand resort next door to Wynn Al Marjan Island

A groundbreaking ceremony (pictured) has taken place for Janu Al Marjan Island, according to a Monday announcement.

The new luxury resort – under the Aman Group’s Janu brand – is on the same land-reclamation area off the coast of Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the under-construction Wynn Al Marjan Island casino complex, which will be managed by Wynn Resorts Ltd.

The budget for Janu Al Marjan Island was not mentioned in Monday’s press release.

Wynn Resorts is a 40-percent equity partner, as well as operator, of the US$5.1-billion Wynn Al Marjan Island. The casino complex is due to launch next year.

Marjan LLC is a Ras Al Khaimah entity described as Wynn Resorts’ joint venture partner.

The Janu brand is part of the Aman Group, a luxury hotel and private residence business.  Janu Al Marjan Island (pictured in an artist’s rendering) is due to open in 2029, per the update.

The Monday press release, issued on behalf of Marjan, cited Max Tappeiner, president of Wynn Al Marjan Island, as saying: “Janu is an exciting addition to Al Marjan Island and a natural complement to what we’re creating at Wynn Al Marjan Island.”

He added: “Its distinctive approach to hospitality brings something new to the destination.

“As neighbouring developments, we expect a natural connection between our guests and residents that will create meaningful benefits for both properties.”

In September 2025, it was announced that Wynn Resorts and its local partner had land for a “second integrated resort” on Al Marjan Island.

In other news on Wynn Resorts’ UAE scheme, the firm said it held an opening ceremony for its 15,000-square-metre (161,459-sq.-feet) logistics centre at the casino complex.

The facility will bring “a wide range of operational functions together under one roof, supporting everything from inventory management and engineering workshops to security screening, uniform distribution and crisis response,” the company stated.

The casino group added regarding the specialist staff assigned to the workshops: “From carpentry and metalwork to upholstery and finishing, their work will help ensure the resort continues to reflect the standards of quality, craftsmanship and artistry that are synonymous with the Wynn Resorts name.”

Wynn Resorts is the parent of Macau casino operator Wynn Macau Ltd, which recently saw local-government approval there for a new hotel tower on the public land concession where its Wynn Palace resort is located in Cotai.
