Macau casino junket investor Suncity Group has launched a secure mobile phone application called “Sun Finance” that is said to allow the firm’s VIP gambling clients to keep track of their account summary, win-loss history and rolling chip activities, GGRAsia has learnt.
Celestino Ali, vice president in the information technology department of the junket firm, told us that the new application – launched last week – offers “secure account verification” for its gaming clients. An earlier application, launched a year ago, offered some functions, but not secure verification.
“With this [new] application, clients can have the real-time tracking of their account balance, in whichever of our [club] venues they play,” said Mr Ali.
“Our customers also have immediate access to our 24/7 concierge services through the application,” he added.
Suncity Group – said by investment analysts to be one of the largest organisers of VIP gambling in Macau – has also conducted VIP gaming operations in the Philippine capital Manila, in Seoul in South Korea, and in Melbourne, Australia, according to a press statement it released in February to mark its 10th anniversary.
Suncity Group also has investments in non-gaming sectors, including finance, real estate development, film production, concert and event planning, the media, education, tourism, catering and luxury goods retailing. Last year, the group established a unit called Sun Travel, focusing on high-end global travel and entertainment services.
Mr Ali noted that Suncity Group is looking to launch in approximately three months’ time another mobile phone application. “Sun Travel” – currently undergoing testing – is designed to help the group’s clients, as well as the general public, book transport, hotel accommodation, restaurants and other entertainment in Macau or further afield.
The junket firm’s IT boss added that the “Sun Finance” app will eventually offer an embedded link to the “Sun Travel” app, although he described the latter as a standalone product.
The operation of the new applications will allow the firm to perform “tactical promotions” of Suncity Group’s products and services, by identifying the travel spending patterns of its clients, Mr Ali noted.
